 GEORGE
NATHANIEL aka GEORGEE
is a singer, songwriter and producer.
George discovered
his vocal talent in one of the singing competitions organised by
the school authority. He was also encouraged by his
parents to join the St. Jude Christian Methodist Episcopal
Church Choir. In 1994 he
joined a group called Galaxy Band as lead vocalist and
also learned to play the piano and the guitar.
He hooked up with producer Nelson Brown (dove entertainment) In 1990, and became involved
in most projects as background vocalist and co-producer whilst
acquiring skills in sound engineering and production techniques.
This led to further collaboration with other top producers and
artistes (such as Paul I K Dairo) in Nigeria as well as his current involvement with the Sabina
Umeh-Akamune project.
George
is currently also working on compiling and recording enough
material for his forthcoming album. His influences include: R
Kelly, Ron Isley, Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, D'angelo, BB king, George Benson and
Grover Washington Jr.
George's music has the
"neo-soul" vocal vibe with a touch of classic Jazz and
Rhythm and Blues. His Production style incorporates wild and jazzy notes
from the guitar with the piano Rhodes, heavy bass and phat instrumentals
that get you hypnotized. "The soul thing", as Motown's Berry Gordy
Jr. used to say "is in the grooves" and so is George.
