Over the last four
years we have been involved in the development of our company
JuicyGroove. The main objective of JuicyGroove is to write,
produce, develop and manage new artists and acts for careers in
the music industry. We are presently working with a very
talented female singer namely SABINA
Umeh-Akamune. Sabina has represented her country Nigeria in
the Miss World and Miss Universe beauty pageants and we are
currently working on releasing her first single to be followed
by an album.
Our other passion,
other than music, is in the involvement and work (by our
co-founder Gerard Finn) to reduce poverty and degradation
for the less privileged people (especially children) in the
majority of African Communities. Gerard spent four years
in two African countries working in rural development projects,
and witnessed first hand the hardships that exist for the
majority of these communities, and especially children.
The AIDS epidemic
has compounded the hardship and misery even more, again children
being the worst effected due to being left parentless. This
disturbing demise of African children was very much brought to
the forefront over the last year by the death of the little
twelve-year-old South African boy Nkosi Johnson, who died
from Aids. He is only one of millions of little children(through no fault of their own) who die and are at this
moment dying from Aids all over Africa. This is primarily due to
lack of appropriate medicine, which would without doubt prolong
their lives if it were available.
While there is no
quick fix solution to this diverse and very complex issue, there
are a number of measures that need to be increased to reduce the
suffering of these children and improve the quality of their
short lives. Homeless and parentless children must be cared for
in a controlled safe environment and provided with proper food,
education, clothes, appropriate health care, love and security,
all of which we take for granted. There are a number of
dedicated agencies providing some of the above mentioned, but
resources are too meagre to make any significant impact for such
a difficult set of problems. An up to date perspective on the
effect of AIDS on children in Africa can be found in a series of
articles by Mark Schoofs at the Village Voice website: http://www.villagevoice.com/specials/africa/
This brings us to
a proposal we wish to make to you personally. We have a very
touching ballad titled PUT A LITTLE LOVE, which we plan
to release as a benefit single on behalf of these children. We
are at this juncture approaching celebrities from the music and
sports industry to promote the single and project.
We feel that all
support and involvement in this project will greatly enhance the
international impact of the single. To this end we are appealing
to everyone both within and outside the entertainment industry
(i.e. artistes, managers, record companies and labels), to
contribute whatever they can to help in making this the great
success that it is capable of being.
Every
contribution, no matter how small or what type (e.g. time,
financial, advise, facilities and services), will be
acknowledged prominently on the single sleeve –except where
requested otherwise.
We appreciate how
precious your time is and hope however, that you will find an
opportunity to consider this proposal.More information can be obtained by contacting us via:
